Dittos made the first move to fashion denim in the early 1970s, and like the ad to the left shows, they are available for a come back. It took quite a few years for big-time designers to get in on the act, but by the late 70s the designer jeans era was in full swing. This bloggist credits their candy colors and saddle seam for getting it all started. Other observers bemoan those innovations, but here they are remembered fondly. Historians may find the ads below interesting.
